Inkjet Web Press

Inkjet Web Press The Inkjet Web Press (IWP) is a compact, web transport system that moves paper or other flexible media past fixed printheads for development purposes. The IWP maintains speeds from 50 to 300 feet (15 to 90m) per minute with web widths up to 3” (76mm).

The IWP is ideal for ink development, ink/substrate interaction analysis, and image quality evaluation. It offers advanced functionality and performance at a competitive price.

Users of the IWP have the ability to adjust the platen height depending on the size of the printhead and thickness of the substrate. This allows them to optimize platen distance between their selected printhead and substrate for desired ink and substrate interaction.

The IWP supports one to eight printheads (depending on the manufacturer) and features an optional curved platen that adds tension to substrates such as labels that may bend easily. A heated platen and curing extension, which allow a UV lamp or other curing device to be attached inline, are available as options.

The IWP is a broadly utilized development tool - customers include printhead manufacturers, ink formulators and application & system developers - and has been adapted for a number of prototype production environments.
